Our Tarot Card Reading Workshop: "Reading Like a Fool: Learning to Trust Your Intuition" with Mary Grisey

On October 23rd, Social Study welcomed textile artist, tarot practitioner and clairvoyant Mary Grisey for a moving and informative workshop on the tarot.

In her workshop, Mary guided us in developing our intuition through the Tarot, helped demystify the meaning behind the cards, and facilitated the connection between us and our spirit guides and the universe around us. She cited some great written resources for us too, from Rachel Pollack to Alejandro Jodorowsky!

We were fortunate to have Mary as our guide- she was an exceptionally talented teacher! Here's a brief bio for your perusal:

"Mary has been reading and studying the tarot for over 15 years. She is claircognizant, an empath, a teacher and an intuitive who draws from a variety of esoteric systems including astrology, numerology, mythology, Jungian symbolism and runes to conduct her tarot readings. She has been connected to the unseen world ever since she can remember and works closely with her Spirit guide, Ruth. In addition to her tarot practice, she has a fine art background that provides a unique approach to her readings as they tend to foster creativity, inventiveness and imagination."

Many of us used the Wild Unknown tarot for the workshop, which we carry here at Social Study. We love its unconventional illustrations and rich symbolism.

We're also fortunate to have Mary with us in another capacity- she's an incredibly talented natural dye and textile artist, and her work is gracing our window for November, with a reception for it being held on 11/12!
